Original W trek

The Original W trek is one of the most famous treks on the planet! it explores all the Paine figures: The Towers, The horns, The French Valley and Grey Glacier.

Day 0 / Puerto Natales

This trip starts in Puerto Natales, a lovely town on the Señoret Channel.

Day 1 / Base of the Towers Trek

Trek: 7 hrs round trip, 19 km (700m altitude gain)

At 7:20 public bus to to Torres del Paine National Park (2,5 hrs)

This amazing place was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1978. Today, you will trek the most famous trail in Paine: The Base of the Towers. The trek is an uphill almost all the way, but it is completely worth it when you get to the Towers Lookout! a unique view.

Day 2 / Los Cuernos Pass

Trek: 3,5 to 4 hours, (11 km)

You have the whole day to walk from Las Torres Refuge to Los Cuernos Refuge. The trail runs along the shores of Nordenskjold Lake through Beautiful Native Forests. You will spend the night at a privileged site close to the river, with an amazing view of the Horns!

Day 3 / French Valley

Trek: 9 to 10 hours, 18,8 km * The time and distance will depend on the lookout you choose.

Today you will discover the Beutiful French Valley. You can choose the difficulty of the day depending on how far you want to get. If you decide to walk to the last viewpoint, you will have a panoramic view of the western sector of the Valley and the mountains such as the North Peak of Paine Grande, Castillo (Castle), Cota 2000, Catedral, Aleta del Tiburon (Shark’s Fin) amongst other granite peaks.

Highlights: Pehoe Lake, Paine Horns, French Valley, Paine Grande mountain, French Glacier.

Day 4 / Grey Glacier

Trek: 3,5 to 4 hrs, 11 km

After breakfast, you will trek to Grey Refuge with incredible views of the magnificent Grey Glacier. There are a couple of lookouts of the Glacier on the way, but if you want to get closer, you can visit the old “Los Guardas” campsite wich has an incredible lookout to the Glacier from a higher ground.

Day 5 – Pekoe Catamaran – Puerto Natales

Trek: 3,5 to 4 hrs, 11 km

Trek back to Paine Grande Lodge to catch the Catamarán to Pudeto dock  to catch the public bus back to Puerto Natales.

Highlights: Grey Glacier, Grey Lake’s icebergs
